Pollution Essay

I would say that nowadays everybody is concerned with the climate change because it’s something we hear every day in the news and each time the consequences are more and more obvious. Nevertheless, I think many people are not committed to the protection of the natural environment.

I know plenty of people who don’t recycle well because they dont feel like separating the trash in their appropiate dumpsters, drop litter on the floor beacuse the bin is a bit far, or throw away rubbish into the lake or sea. But there is a widening gulf between this “litte” pollution and the one that is caused by big factories, specially in developing countries. Some factories pour all kind of chemical waste into the sea, polluting the water and causing the death of tons of fishes. Others send out great clouds of poisonous smoke which are fulling the air with light pollution that we cannot see. In addition, pollution have terrible effects  such as droughts, rising sea level, greenhouse gas, floods, rising average temperature, etc. We are destroying entire forest and harming lots of animals because a lot of trees are being cut down to built buildings, dams, factories, etc. We have seriously depleted the ozone layer in the last few decades by our selfish actions.

Pollution is a world-wide problem and I belive it isn’t  taken very seriouly by politicians. Sometimes they  take short-term measures to alleviate some problems but I think that embracing green politics may be our best hope in the long term to eradicate pollution. In my opinion, the government should take some measures, like encouring public transport, in order to reduce air pollution which is being caused by the vehicles’ exhaust fumes, which are polluting massively the air. Another solution may be to stimulate people to follow the three Rs- reduce, reuse ad recycle.

In brief, planet Earth is a gift we were given and we are tossing it in the trash.

Problem/Solution paragraphs "Peer Pressure"

As you grow older, you'll be face with some challenging decisions. Making decisions on your own is hard enough, but when other people get involved it can be even harder. People who are your age, like your classmates, are called peers. When they try to influence you how you act it's called peer pressure. Sometimes peers influence each other in negative ways. For example, a few kids in school might try to get you cut class with them or a kid in the neighborhood might want you to shoplift with him. Some kids give in to peer pressure because they want to be liked, to fit in, or because they worry about others kids might make fun of them if they don't go along with the group. Others go along because they are curious to try something new that others are doing.

One solution to the problem of peer pressure is to pay attention to your feelings and beliefs about what is right and wrong. Inner strength and self-confidence can help you stand firm, walk away, and resist doing something you know that is wrong.

A second solution is to have at least one other peer, or friend, who is willing to say "no". too. This makes it much easier to face peer pressure. It's great to have friends with values similar to yours who will back you up when you don't want to do something. If you choose friends who don't take drugs, cut class, smoke cigarettes, or lie to their parents, then you probably won't do these things either, even if other kids do. Try to help a friend who is having trouble resisiting peer pressure. It can be powerful for one kid to join another by simple saying, "I'm with you - let's go".

Advantages and disadvantages of alcohol

Drinking alcohol has lots of disadvantage but it has some advantages too. Let's start with the advantages. Alcohol helps you be a more social, extrovert and outgoing person; interact with other people and  flirt. Futhermore, it eliminates shyness, lack of confidence, insecurities and any kind of fear or worry in your mind. Alcohol takes all your problems away for a while and make it easier to enjoy the night. In brief, alcohol makes you feel the way you ought to feel without alcohol.

On the other hand, there are also plenty of disadvantages. First of all, alcohol is very harmful for your body. It hurts your liver and it kills neurons, they say that each time you drink you become sillier and sillier. Moreover, when you are drunk you are not aware of the things you are doing and that can be so bad because sometimes you do things you shouldn't have done and then you regret it, for instance, things like kissing the wrong girl or saying unsuitable words. Besides, when you wake up next morning your head is spinning around due to the fact that you've got an incredible hangover and you begin to damn all the things you did last night.

I dont wanna fall asleep, I don't know if I'll get up, I don't wanna cause a scene but I'm dying without your love, I'm begging to hear your voice, tell me you love me too, 'cause I'd rather just be alone if I know that I can't have you.
So tell me what we're fighting for, if you know that the truth means so much more, cause you would if you could, don't lie.'Cause I'd give everything that I've got left to show you I mean what I have said, I know I was such a fool, but I can't live without you.

UNCONDITIONAL BASIC INCOME

I think that the unconditional basic income would solve lots of  today's problems, especially in countries like Spain. In our country there are plenty of people who cannot feed their familes due to the fact that they are unemployed , so the basic income would eliminate poverty and hunger. Also, the basic income would provide confidente, self respect, and a life worth living to every human being. Other improtant point is that no one would be forced to accept poor work conditions because they would not be bound by necessity, and this way, workers would be better able to negotiate labor contracts.

But on the other hand, it is true that the basic icome is quite unfair to those who work. Those who are lazy will become even lazier. Futhermore, the money will have to come from those who earn money so, in the end, the ones who work hard every day would be hurt and lose even more in taxes, and those who are irresponsibles and do not contribute with society would benefit. In addition, unpleasant or low-paid jobs, far from disappearing, would be made by people who do not have citizenship or who are not eligible for the subsidy.

ROSE GARDEN

She was brought into this world out of a beautiful mistake, when her mum was just a girl and her dad didn't stay. She was working at age nine at the flower shop in town, working not just to survive, 'cause life was throwing her around. She was young but not naive, always wise beyond her years, hoping  that no one would see every time she dried her tears. In the rose garden, where the rain is falling, and the thorns are sharpened, rose garden. Don't let those petals fall, don't let them fall on you.

DESCRIBING PEOPLE

I have always admired my grandfather for his strenght, kidness and wisdom. He was born in Argentina and he'd had to work since he was so young to help his family. When he was eighteen years old he moved to Murcia with his parents and two sisters. He is very hardworking, responsible and he is also a great and kind person. I see him as much as I can. But he is not too talkative because he is too old (he's almost 84 years old), and besides, he was diagnosed parkinson twenty years ago. But, he is always there when I need him and he always tries to help me. I love when he tells me his childhood's experiences. Definitely, I can say that my grandfather is a good friend to me.

SOMETIMES...

Sometimes I look but I don't see
I want to but I don't feel
I'm happy but I don't smile
I'm ice and burn
I listen but I don't hear
Sometimes I hate you but I can't forget you.

LIFE

Life is funny, isn't it? Just when you think you've got it all figured out, just when you begin to plan something, get excited about it and feel like you  know what direction you are heading it, the paths change, the signs change, the wind blows the other way, north is suddenly south, and east is west and you are lost.
